Back to the shoes & hiSt

Crazy right?
If you have too wear DMs, and lets face it that may be a few of us in the near future, you can at least make them Raf ones. They didn't have that kind of stylistic choice under Thatcher.
More amazing leathery from Natalie Brilli
Mr. Hare is not entirely feeling these but you have to recognise a fresh model when you see one. This from a brand called Lad Musician. Probably Japanese.
Mr. Hare didn't think he would ever yearn for a Comme wallet again, but how wrong one can be.
Jeremy Scott! Every now and then, one of his ideas either puts a smile on your face or actually makes sense. Adidas obviously like a gamble.
Mr. T. Hamilton. He has got that look down now and it's beginning to feel good to Mr. Hare.
My short term memory took a hit since I lifted this picture so I can't remember where I got it but, I do remember it was a cold snowy day and I wanted to be this warm and tweedy. A Mr. Hare goody treat to the first person who can tell me where this suit is from again. Unless it's Duckie Brown in which case I ain't as forgetful as a Wha's name?

And Finally If you are going to dress like you just inherited your Armish uncles wardrobe you could do a lot worse than these Hobo Paraboots that are chanelling the whole made in the US menswear moment and some Prada studdery.

Browns Sugar

What Mr. Hare is about to share with you may temporarily pin the economy to it's downward trend until the end of January 09.

Browns are opening a 12,000sqft stand alone shoe store in what was formerly known as Browns Bride. (63 Brook Street W1, opposite Claridges) That makes it London's first multibrand designer shoe boutique.

Azzedine Alaia, Balenciaga, Balmain, Chloe, Christian Louboutin, Dries Van Noten, Marni, Martin Margiela, Nicolas Kirkwood, Rupert Sanderson and Rick Owens are all signed up so far and have promised exclusives to the store. That isn't even the best news.

The lower ground floor (underground, get me?) is entirely dedicated to men's shoes and accessories. Comme, Raf, YSL, Lanvin, Rick and Bottega as well as cutting edge new talent.
Mr. Hare is beside himself.

The press release says "This will be a safe haven for 'the other halves' to not only browse for themselves but catch up on work with our laptop service or just relax with a coffee and a newspaper." WORK? RELAX? NEWSPAPERS? Mr. Hare believes they are seriously underestimating the force within us Noveau Hommes des Chaussures.
There will be a bespoke shoe service, repairs and special events. Intriguing!

So you may wish to re-assess your Christmas shopping budget and call some friendships into question as there are serious shoe issues on the horizon. Mr. Brown's Retail Jumpstart will just have to wait. Watch this space!

While I was away...

Other blogs of repute reported on these oysters and crabsticks.
This is the best picture of the future president Mr. Hare has seen. It's just a shame T-Bone got all "executive producer all up in the video".
Obama = Oyster
Terry Richardson = Crabstick.

Original Fake room shoes collabo with Cause. Oyster? Crabstick? Can't decide.

Mr. Hare loves Comme des Garcons and Mr. Hare loves Dunks, but Mr. Hare is not sure about their ugly kid. Crabstick until I see a pair live.

So nearly Oyster but way beyond crabstick. Let's say Oyster card.

You can always rely on Ato to mix things up a little. These remind Mr. Hare of Napolean Dynamites drawing of a Liger.
For a geeky outdoor sidebrand this is a bit of an oyster.

This on Sunday Best is actually a pearl.

Comme as you are.

Mr. Hare was rather taken by these Comme des Garcons in Browns. Inspired by Carnaby Street but built for Jermyn Street, finished in fine calf leather.  A real point to the last and proper walls that will remain over time. Non obtrusive single sole and a toe spring with just the right attitude. And then the Tartan...Genius!

These are Thursday night shoes of stamina that will take you from soiree to dinner to
cocktails to Gaz's and beyond.
Always with a twinkle in your eye and a spring in your step.

Why Thursday?

Because Thursday night is when London is frequented by people who care about such things.
