Tomorrows shoes, Today!

The only thing that has really caught Mr. Hare's eye on the New York catwalks this weekend were these rather complete Oxfords which appeared in both Perry Ellis and Shipley & Halmos' shows.
Men.style.com also noticed them and pointed out they were by The Generic Man (click title to go there).
Mr. Hare was then elated to find out that these badboys are AW2008 season and yours for just $295.00 (two chickens and sack of corn in English money).
So why wait for next summer when the "Good iSht" is right here.

An Cool.

It clearly states in Mr.Hare post No.1 (Let's start as we mean to proceed) Rule no.2

"Shoes and trousers are a double act. The best shoes in the world are nullified if not compatible with your hemline. The alterations professional is a shoeists best friend."

So Mr. Hare was delighted at the opportunity to enjoy Mr. Dean Mayo Davies' (C'mon chaps show us some leg) article on Ponystep.com, which basically backs up aforementioned point.

Brogue Gladiator Mandals

Every menswear house on earth must be agonising over why they didn't think of it first. Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy is Mr. Hare's shoe maverick of SS09. Hear me out.
Presumably the original concept.
You have to want the look here.

Alongside the Hi-top frenzy taking place at nearly every house for next SS these represent an individual and inspired choice.

On the right guy, these are way rockable anyday of summer.
Moin socks, avec tan d'accord!

Again, avec a healthy ankle tan, even in caramel you could cut a dash through Stanstead in late August.

With the right wool baggies and creative sock selection, these could be your statement through  Autumn 09, but you didn't need me to break it down for you, did you?
If you want to comment, feel free?

Looking at the Gucci's, it's about that time!

Mr. Hare fondly remembers marching to Gucci in Bond Street with £129.00 (cash) in December 1988 and purchasing his first pair of Gucci loafers. Classic black suede, gold horse bit. Since then his interest in the shoes from that house has waned somewhat. That is until next summer...
