Mad Love!

Demotivated by the daylong downpour blanketing London yesterday I perused the DVD shelf in search of a distraction. I decided to revisit Mikhail Kalatozov's 1964 Masterpiece "Soy Cuba". I don't want to sound like a film bore, but technically 98% of the films made since this one come no where near it. Made just 5 years after the Batista regime were exiled, and filmed during the Cuban missile crisis, the stylistic approach, ambition and gob-smaking camera work will totally blow your mind.

See the trailer and more clips here.

Thanks for posting this. Just ordered online, and I'm excited. I'm new to your blog (found it via Lust for Shoes), but I'm loving it and look forward to new posts. Lauren
